Do one thing that feels like you today
Not the coping version of you. Just you.
The last few weeks have been about getting through, because sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed.
But I’ve noticed that when things feel heavy for a while, I tend to slip into coping mode. Everything becomes practical. Sensible. I lose myself a little.
So this week, I’m doing one small thing each day that feels like me.
Today it’s wearing my new cheerful pink jumper, even though I feel a bit sad. It doesn’t solve anything at all. It just feels like me.
It might be picking up a book you actually want to read instead of another self-development book. Listening to music you love, even if your partner or kids don’t think it’s cool. Choosing colour over sensible.
If you feel like joining me, here’s your small step: Do one thing that makes you feel like yourself again.
Not the you that everyone else sees, the one that’s you from the inside.
Not productive. Not improved.
Just you.
Until next time,
Louise and Mark x
