🥱 Can't sleep for overthinking?
This week: Why your brain goes into overdrive at night - and a simple way to quiet it
Hey friend 🧡
It usually starts just as I get all snug under the duvet.
My body’s ready for sleep - but my brain has other plans: Did I move enough today? Is that pain in my side something to worry about? Did I say the right thing to my teenager? Have I forgotten something important for tomorrow?
And lately, with big changes ahead - selling the house, figuring out what comes next - it’s like my brain saves up all its questions for bedtime. (Thanks, brain.)
If you’ve ever found yourself lying there, replaying the day or spiralling into tomorrow’s worries, you’re definitely not alone.
☝️Tap to vote - and hopefully feel a little less alone with it. Or hit reply and tell me: What helps you switch off at night?
In this week’s Seeking Calm, we’re talking about why overthinking often shows up just as we’re trying to fall asleep - and what you can do to calm your mind when it does. Thank you, as always, for being here.

🛠 This week’s small step: A bedtime brain dump
If your brain goes into overdrive the moment your head hits the pillow, you’re not alone. Nighttime overthinking is common - and exhausting.
📝 Write it all down – Before bed, grab a notebook or open your notes app (in dark mode!) and jot down everything on your mind. To-dos, worries, thoughts, feelings - let it all spill out without judgement.
🧠 Empty your head – This tells your brain: You don’t have to hold onto this right now. It’s safe. You can rest.
🌙 Create a new cue – Over time, this simple act becomes a signal to your mind: the day is done, and it’s safe to let go.
🎯 Try it tonight: Set a timer for just five minutes and see what flows out. You might be surprised how much lighter your thoughts feel afterwards.

🛠 A quick WorryTree update!
Behind the scenes, we’re still in testing mode - shaping the next version of WorryTree into something calmer, clearer and more useful than ever.
The new Values Compass tool is starting to take shape - it’s designed to help you stay grounded in what matters most, especially when worries start to take over. There’s not too much to share just yet, but I’ll keep you posted as things unfold.
And yes… a fresh new name is coming too. One that reflects light, clarity and moving forward. I can’t wait to share it with you soon!
Finally: If you’re struggling, please don’t struggle alone.
