Oh Louise how this post on perfectionism resonates with me given my dire procrastination to start or do anything unless I feel I can do so perfectly? So as a result nothing gets done and the guilt fest continues? It’s worse knowing how perfectionism is counterproductive but still chasing it because I feel if I just push/try harder because I am not trying hard enough or putting myself through enough pain ? than I can get there? Then I just punish myself for not achieving yet again🤯 A real endless and vicious cycle of self punishment ? Thank you for highlighting this and for suggesting the 80% bar which I am going to try out for sure as a way of hopefully actually doing something rather than nothing🤞 I will let you know how it goes 🤞💪🏿🌈
🧡 this Rachel - yes, try it and let me know how you get on! And a book suggestion perhaps, have you read '4000 weeks' by Oliver Burkeman? I'm reading it at the moment and it's really putting my perfectionist tendencies into perspective!
